Rubber Duckie Day

As some of you of course know, today is Rubber Duck Day. Yeah, I guess good old Rubber Duck's been along for the ride. In the bathtub or as a gift... What do you mean, you haven't given away a ducky? You should definitely do that.

But... the little yellow guy can do a lot more than just swim around in the bathtub

Among other things, John Cage used this cuddly companion as a musical instrument in Waterwalk. We call it a "musical instrument". As early as 1960, the rubber duck was therefore present on television. A long time lies behind the duckling.

And even today the rubber duck is part of our culture and society. Be it as an oversized 32-metre-high duck of a Mr Florentijn Hofman or in large duck races in which the little tiny ducks swim in their thousands. By necessity, the little guys were even used to calculate the garbage swirls in the oceans. In 1992, almost 30,000 squeaking ducks went overboard from a freighter from Hong Kong for this purpose.

Many of you, perhaps you too, will know our little friend mainly from their childhood. We at least associate the yellow *miep miep* with one thing:

„Quietscheentchen nur mit dir … plansche ich so gerne hier“ are unforgettable lines and revive the childhood.

You'll know, we're talking the rubby duck song. In the 70's Ernie from Sesame Street sang the Rubby Duck song on Norddeutscher Rundfunk. For those who want to relive their childhood, we have of course taken the trouble and selected the song for you

Unfortunately we do not know if this song is also available in english speaking countries. But for our English readers we don't want to withhold the song.
